“I’m at a loss for words because I really had an amazing time. This whole magical realism they talk about in Colombia, it’s so magical and so real at the same time—this whole thing, this trip seems written by García Márquez, really.” —Manu Manuti.
In the capital of Colombia, Manu tried Andrés Carne de Res’ famous arepas de choclo (sweet corn arepa) and went to the iconic La Perseverancia Marketplace for a traditional Colombian breakfast made up of rib broth, tamale, arepa, scrambled eggs and hot chocolate with bread. He toured the city’s historic center and strolled the colorful streets of impressive graffiti art. Do you think he had a good time? Find out here.
“I’m in love with the people and the food of this place”, this is what Manu Manuti had to say after his visit to Colombia’s oldest city, also nicknamed the Pearl of the Americas. He certainly didn’t miss out on the delicious cayeye and arepa’e huevo. Did he like it? Only one way to find out.
Manu Manuti was left in awe by the lush greenery and flowing rivers of La Guajira, Colombia’s famous desert region in the northernmost end of South America. There he also learnt about Wayúu culture and traditions after visiting a family ranch and even took part in one of their rituals. Take a look at his experience!
