Heir to four generations of Alsatian bakers and pastry chefs, he began his career at the age of 14 with Gaston Lenôtre. His high standards, his extraordinary creativity, his desire to pass on his know-how and the world of Haute-Pâtisserie have made him famous.

French pastry chef and chocolatier named Best Pastry Chef in the World in 2016 by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, he was voted the fourth most influential Frenchman in the world by Vanity Fair magazine the same year. He received the insignia of Officer of the Order of Agricultural Merit in 1996, was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 2006 before being named Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters for the influence he offers to French gastronomy in 2019.
While passing through the country’s capital, Pierre Hermé tasted the tamale with chocolate at La Puerta Falsa, discovered the typical fruits of the region and the country in the colorful Plaza de Paloquemao, learned about local flavors surrounded by works of art at the National Museum, visited the Uchuva crops and ended his tour at Andrés Carne de Res, the atypical restaurant that brings together the best of Colombia in its all flavors and constant feast.
