Colombia is a country that is divided into 6 large regions, where each one has specific qualities that make them totally different and special from the others. But not only that, Colombia is a country characterized by the warmth of its people and the diversity of nature and culture found in each of the regions of the country.
1. WHAT IS COLOMBIA COUNTRY BRAND/MARCA PAÍS COLOMBIA?
Colombia Country Brand is a strategy designed by the Government that strives to position the country with a positive image towards the world.
2. WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THE LOGO?
The variety of colors represent the mega-diversity Colombia has. The geometric figures represent the geographical regions of the country.
Each color means:
- Blue: Our water resources
- Yellow: Variety of climates, lands and minerals
- Green: Biodiversity, landscapes and the great variety of green that can be found in our nature.
- Violet: The variety in Colombian flowers; especially orchids, which are one of our most important symbols.
- Red: Our welcoming and talented people who live from their passions
3. WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP THAT COLOMBIA COUNTRY BRAND HOLDS WITH THE PREVIOUS CAMPAIGN “COLOMBIA IS PASSION”?
Colombia Country Brand is a Governmental Entity that dedicates itself to promote the nation’s brand since September 2011. “Colombia is passion” was the first phase of a strategy that pretends to promote Colombia internationally.
4. WHAT IS THE CAMPAIGN “THE ANSWER IS COLOMBIA” ABOUT?
This is a campaign focused on internationalizing Colombia and promoting it abroad. The campaign is not focused on a specific component, but it actually shows every aspect of this country. It highlights all of our strengths in terms of culture, biodiversity, tourism and foreign investment, among others.
5. IS COLOMBIA COUNTRY BRAND PART OF PROCOLOMBIA?
Yes. Since 2014 we are part of Procolombia to enforce the positive image of Colombia around the world.
6. WHAT ARE THE LOGO APPLICATIONS (POTENCIADORES)?
These are graphic expressions of the brand that highlight a specific topic or fact. As an example, we can see that the logo variations that contain a toucan or a parrot are based on the fact that we have great biodiversity in birds, reinforcing the message that the Brand wants to show the world.
7. IS COLOMBIA COUNTRY BRAND A PRIVATE OFFICE OR IS IT PART OF THE GOVERNMENT?
It is a Governmental Entity with mixed economy.
8. CAN I USE THE BRAND EVEN IF I’M NOT A COMPANY?
Colombia’s brand is free and can be used by everybody.
9. WHY DOES COLOMBIA COUNTRY BRAND HAVE AN OFFICE DEDICATED TO THE PROMOTION OF THE COUNTRY ABROAD?
