Riohacha
The Pearl Gateway, another name by which this city is known due to the large number of these gems extracted from its coasts, is globally recognized as the host of one of the most cherished musical events for lovers of vallenato culture: the Francisco El Hombre Festival. In honor of this mythical figure, known for defeating the devil in an accordion duel, various minstrels and artists from the Greater Colombian Caribbean gather at this celebration so that, for at least two days, the whole world can experience the rich folklore and gastronomy of La Guajira.
