Chicamocha Canyon Race was adorned with the beauty of Colombia
Learn how the Chicamocha Canyon Race in San Gil, Santander, brought together sports, culture, and nature in Colombia's largest canyon.

For 4 days and 3 nights, more than 1,000 mountain runners faced the wildest and most beautiful landscapes of Colombia, crossing ancestral paths and towns frozen in time. The Chicamocha Canyon Race, held in San Gil, Santander, is one of the most recognized trail running Colombia and ultratrail events in the country, and this year it became a showcase to present to the world the natural and cultural greatness of our country of beauty.

In partnership with Ríos y Canoas, organizer of the event, the official t-shirt was created to capture the essence of the Chicamocha Canyon. Its design evoked the topography of the region, with lines symbolizing the paths towards our goals; and its colors — ochres, browns, and yellows reflecting the richness of the soil; greens representing the nature surrounding San Gil; and blues evoking the Chicamocha River — brought the identity of our land to each runner. The mountain goat, emblem of resilience, completed this symbol that also inspired the finish arch, the podium, the bibs, and other graphic elements that dressed the race.
Chicamocha Canyon Race: a pride for Colombia

The Chicamocha Canyon Race connects sports, culture, and nature in a single setting. The Chicamocha Canyon, considered the largest canyon in Colombia, became a unique setting for a true mountain marathon, where the colors of our land and the strength of its landscapes inspired every participant. This event, in addition to promoting sports tourism in Colombia, also boosts cultural tourism, showing how every corner of our country can captivate the world with its diversity, culture, and natural beauty.
Finally, the message transcended the mountains. Thanks to social media dissemination by Marca País: more than 84,000 impressions were reached, bringing to new international audiences the energy of an event that unites sports, nature, and creativity. Once again, Colombia proved that every step we take is also an opportunity to celebrate our beauty.
