The rivers attract tourism, as well as being the means of transportation and food par excellence for many of its inhabitants. On the banks of the Inírida River are the hills of Mavecure, a group of three large rocks: Pajarito, Mono and Mavicure, home to the Puinave indigenous community. Their relevance is such that they are represented in the department's coat of arms and their imposing landscape has become a symbol of the region.
