It is the most populated municipality in the Amazon region and is known as “The Golden Gate of the Colombian Amazon”.
Only in this place you can eat moqueado fish -or “moquia'o”-, an indigenous recipe that consists of cooking fish wrapped in banana leaves underground. Also popular are corn wraps with cheese and panela, yucca cake and insulsos, evidence of a strong influence of the gastronomy of Tolima Grande.
