Most of the department of Cauca is located in the Colombian Massif and is an ancestral land full of ancient cultures, thanks to the indigenous people who inhabited the territory. It is also a region that transports its visitors to a traditional world, connecting them with mountains, páramos, and volcanoes.​

In this territory, there are important indigenous communities such as the Guambianos and Misak, who are located in the municipality of Silvia and its surroundings. Here, visitors can learn about their traditions, beliefs, lifestyle, gastronomy, and handicrafts, as well as the history and past of the country.​
